A two-roll plate rolling machine is a piece of equipment specifically designed for the circular forming of thin sheets; it bends the sheet metal by utilising the compressive deformation of flexible rolls, and is primarily used to roll flat metal sheets into cylinders in a single operation.
Principle of Operation
The sheet is fed between a rigid roller and a flexible roller; the hydraulic system pushes the flexible roller upwards to press against the sheet. The pressure causes the flexible roller to indent locally, forcing the sheet to conform to the surface of the rigid roller. The two rollers rotate synchronously to feed the material, causing the sheet to undergo continuous plastic bending, and the material is coiled into a complete circle in a single pass.
